Mindflow is an integral part of Precision Athletica’s performance model, and focuses on the mental side of performance, including development of self-awareness, managing nerves, building confidence, psyching up and much more.
At the outset of an athletes career the focus tends to be on the physical components of the sport, mainly due to the fact they are learning the skills and techniques required to compete.
As skill level rises, Mindflow becomes more and more important. Ask an elite athlete and they will tell you that on any given day they are competing in fields where 10% or more of the competitors have the ability to win, therefore mental readiness and toughness becomes a major determining factor in the success of the athlete.
Sport psychologists work with athletes who are good at what they do and help them to perform even better by developing their mental skills. At Precision Athletica our Mindflow Coaches work with elite athletes through to young beginners and who we refer to as weekend warriors – passionate sportspeople who are looking to be the best version of themselves.
The mental skills we impart are lifelong tools that can be applied to all areas of your life. The process is about creating mindful athletes who are aware of their strengths and areas of improvement. As you become more self-aware the next step is to to provide you with mental strategies to help give you that extra edge in performance.
The Precision Athletica Mindflow program is delivered by our Head Mindflow Coach, Mat Howe.
Mat has a great deal of experience working with athletes of all ages, backgrounds, sports and skill levels, and his approach centres on getting your mind to work for you rather than against you, in order to achieve peak performance.
It is about controlling what you can control and letting go of what you cannot, so that you have appropriate focus for successful performance.
Watch and listen to these videos to hear Mat explain more about the benefits of great Mindflow, as well as providing an overview of Mindflow sessions at Precision Athletica and how Sports Psychology has evolved of the years.BOOK A MINDFLOW SESSION
