Career Highlights: Olympic Silver Medal & Commonwealth Games Gold Medal

Melissa began diving in 2003, inspired by watching divers at the local pool. By 2004 she was already winning junior and state titles and in 2006 she won the 10 metre platform at the Australian Open Diving Championships.

The Open Diving Championship win earned Melissa a spot on the Australian Commonwealth Games team where she promptly won a silver medal on the synchronised 10 metre platform.

In 2007, she defended the 10 metre platform title at the Australian Open and was selected for the World Championships, where she won silver in the synchronised 10 metre platform and finished 11th in the individual event.

In 2008, along with Briony Cole, Melissa won a Silver Medal at the Olympic Games in Beijing for the synchronized 10 metre platform, becoming the youngest Australian ever to win an Olympic medal in diving.

By age 16 Melissa had medalled in every major international diving competition and in 2010 at the Delhi Commonwealth Games, Melissa won a gold medal in the synchronised 10 metre platform and a silver medal in the individual 10 metre platform.

Melissa placed fourth in the 10m platform at the 2012 Olympics and fifth at the 2016 Rio Games.

A credit to Australian sport, Melissa is pushing to make the 2018 Commonwealth Games and then will turn her sights on the Tokyo Olympics. Precision Athletica could not be more proud to be part of Team Wu and join Melissa’s fantastic journey.
